Very pleased to see Elizabeth Wissinger’s This Year’s Model out in print from NYU Press. It’s a fascinating look at the standardization of both the modeling industry, and the ironclad proportions of the model body that have been the subject of such intense debate. I contributed to the project by sourcing historical images and doing archival work on agencies, models, and designers dating back to the turn of the last century. Wissinger’s work is connected to the Fashion Studies program at CUNY.
